Our projects

Maju Expressway, Malaysia

This major 42km highway project involved a challenging section constructed over a busy road underneath.  The solution was to precast the crossheads and portals supporting the deck.  This eliminated any major disruption to the traffic flow during the construction and reduced the overall erection period.

The match-cast precast concrete sections were glued together and prestressed after erecting as a balanced cantilever about the columns.  The precast units were connected with an insitu connection stitch to the columns, which were supported on large diameter caissons.  We undertook detailed design of the crossheads, columns and caissons for a variety of substructure arrangements including single, twin and triple column layouts.
