MTR Shatin Central Line, Hung Hom Station Detailed Design.
SCL Hung Hom Station a semi-underground station located under the existing HUH Station podium slab to provide interchange between an East West Line (EWL) and a North South Line (NSL). It was constructed using cut and cover methods. The main challenge with this new station box is that it requires the underpinning of over 100 existing columns at various stages of the new station construction.
We undertook value engineering of the design providing innovative ideas on construction methods and alterations to the permanent works that would save both time and money. We then undertook scheme design of a key section of the station box including a detailed 3D analysis of the construction sequence.
